St. Michaels Association for Special Education is aware of the civil lawsuit that has been filed and of the recent media reports concerning allegations involving individuals who participated in our programs.

The tragic events of Dec. 22, 2025, at the Kayenta Township Christmas Light Parade, should have been that one moment for our leaders to take action and bring changes that will mandate our laws and protect our people across the Navajo Nation.

Kayenta has a problem, but our officials choose to ignore it and allow it to plague the community that we were only visiting.
